Dates for students' final year


Choral & Organ Awards deadline for applications is 1 September (Candidates usually invited for auditions in mid September).

UCAS applications can be submitted from 1 September.

Registration for Oxford admissions tests opens (except the LNAT - see August). Centres can start making candidate entries from 1 September.

LNAT test sittings start on 1 September.

University of Oxford Open Day: Friday 14 September 2018. Colleges and departments will be open to visitors, offering a combination of subject specific talks, tours, drop-in sessions, and information desks where tutors and/or students will be available to answer questions. Registration deadline for Admissions Tests organised by Cambridge Assessment Admission Testing: 15 October

All applications must be made through UCAS by 15 October.

Law applicants must sit the LNAT test by 20 October.


Admissions tests are taken in schools / approved test centres in early November (except candidates for Law who must take the LNAT between 1 September and 20 October). To find out which courses require an admissions test, please visit www.ox.ac.uk/tests.

Students will receive an acknowledgement of their application from their allocated/chosen college in early November and a request for samples of written work (if applicable).

Deadline for the submission of written work (if applicable) is 10 November.

Students will be informed whether or not they have been shortlisted for interview.





Interviews are held in Oxford. Further details about the interview process, including the interview timetable is available at www.ox.ac.uk/interviews.

January - August

Students will be notified of the outcome of their application. If they are made an offer, this may be unconditional (if they have already taken their exams) or conditional on achieving specific exam results.

Students concentrate on their studies and exams. Any students holding offers should direct queries to their allocated/chosen college.

Remind applicants to apply for student finance: England - Northern Ireland - Scotland - Wales

When applying for UK government funding students and their sponsors/parents must agree to share the data relating to their household income assessment with the University in order to be assessed for an Oxford Bursary. Further information is available at www.ox.ac.uk/funding.

Late February

Deadline for international student undergraduate scholarship applications.

Deadlines for student finance applications (varies by region of UK).

May – Students decide which of their university offers to accept and reject.


Exam Results are released and conditional offers are confirmed to candidates.

College parenting letters are sent to students with confirmed places. (The parenting scheme helps new undergraduates find their way in the weeks before, upon and after arrival.)


Some colleges & departments deliver preliminary courses ahead of the start of term. To find out more contact the allocated/chosen college.

Letters sent to eligible students informing them of their Oxford Bursary.


Welcome week at Oxford – term starts.

After enrolment, eligible students will receive their Oxford Bursary for the first term.
